KCLS Has a huge appitite for money. It’s bloated bureaucracy, previous cost over-runs, and worker lawsuits have created a county-wide monster that requires huge taxes. In order to take over the Renton Libraries, they will need $4.6 million in extra taxes from Renton citizens.
Because KCLS is not accountable to the taxpayers and is only accountable to an unelected “board” - no silly idea has gone unfunded. KCLS will cost a Renton taxpayer almost double, and as it becomes more inefficient over the years, our tax bill will be higher.
